Services
Hands, eyes and a written record.
Everything below happens inside a data centre you already rent space in. We work under your authorisation, on your equipment, to your instructions.
In detail
What each job includes
Remote hands
Power cycling a specific outlet, reseating a card or cable, plugging in a crash cart and reading what the console says, checking LED and alarm states, swapping media, pushing a stubborn drive tray home. The everyday things that need a person standing there.
Rack and stack
Receiving the shipment, unboxing, fitting rail kits, mounting, connecting to both power feeds, patching to your switches, labelling both ends of every cable, and sending you a photo of the rack face plus a port map you can paste into your documentation.
Networking and cabling
Cross-connect tails run to the meet-me room after you order the cross-connect. Switch and router mounting, console cable, and loading the configuration file you send us. Optics and patching, copper and fibre testing and certification, and re-dressing racks where the cabling has grown over the years into something nobody wants to touch.
Also the hands a carrier needs on your end during a circuit turn-up: demarc extension, loop tests, and someone on site with the carrier technician on the phone while you stay at your desk.
Hardware swaps and RMA
Failed drives, power supplies, memory, NICs and optics. We receive the replacement, do the swap in your window, pack the failed part in the vendor's box, arrange the return and send you the tracking number. The RMA paperwork is part of the job, not an extra.
Decommission and removal
Powering down in your sequence, de-racking, pulling cabling, packing, and getting the kit out of the building. Drive destruction goes through a certified disposal vendor so you get the certificate your auditor asks for.
Audits and eyes-on
Walking your cage and writing down what is actually there — serials, models, which port goes where, which units are dark. With photographs of every rack face. Worth doing before a migration or when the person who built it has left.
Shipping, receiving and escort
Taking delivery at the dock, staging kit until your install window, and escorting a vendor engineer who needs supervised access to your space.
Scope
What we don't do
Worth saying plainly, so you do not waste a call.
Licensed electrical work
Anything upstream of the PDU — whips, breakers, panel work — belongs to a licensed electrician and the facility. We plug into what is already there.
Network or system design
We execute your runbook. We do not architect your network, tune your hypervisor or make configuration decisions on your behalf.
Facility infrastructure
Cooling, fire suppression, building power and anything outside your cage is the operator's responsibility, not ours.
Pricing
How we charge
Per visit
Billed hourly with a two-hour minimum, counted from arrival on site. Most single tasks fit inside the minimum.
After hours
Evenings, weekends and holidays carry a higher rate. Emergency call-outs are quoted when you call, never after the fact.
Monthly block
Buy a block of hours each month at a lower rate. Sensible once you are calling more than twice a month.
Send us the task and the facility and we will quote it. No estimate ever turns into a bigger invoice without you approving it first.
Send us a job.
Even if it is one reboot at 2am. That is how most of our clients started.
